A mental health consultation at our pediatrician’s office is an important step in addressing concerns related to a child’s emotional, behavioral or psychological well-being. Pediatricians are often the first point of contact for parents noticing changes in their child's mood, behavior or academic performance, such as increased anxiety, sadness, irritability or difficulties in school. During the consultation, our provider will conduct a thorough assessment, which may include discussing the child's developmental history, behavioral patterns and any specific concerns from parents, teachers or caregivers. Based on this evaluation, the provider can provide guidance, recommend resources or refer the child to a mental health professional, for further evaluation or treatment.

Mental health consultations in pediatric care are confidential, non-judgmental and designed to ensure that children receive the appropriate care and support they need. Whether it’s managing stress, addressing anxiety or identifying conditions like depression or ADHD, pediatricians play a key role in supporting the mental health of children and helping families access the resources necessary to manage and treat mental health concerns. Early intervention can significantly improve outcomes, helping children lead healthier, happier lives.
